About Joyce Chesnut

Joyce was born August 30, 1934, in Pigeon Roost, a tiny community in Southeastern Kentucky, and was raised by devoted parents. Joyce's mom was a school teacher, and her dad was a farmer and in trucking. There were three children in her family. Her sister Faye, brother Gilbert Jr, and then Joyce. (Her brother passed away 13 years ago, he was a Vietnam veteran). Growing up, Joyce went to a two-room school through the 8th grade, then to the local high school. She earned 12 credits from University of Kentucky Community College in computer studies. Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Bobby, when she was 18. To this union was born one girl and three boys, Linda Faye, Nathan Thomas, James Wade and Robert Glenn. While raising her family, she worked at a department store for 14 years and has been a homemaker for 63+ years. Joyce is a Kentucky Colonel.
